From 1998 to 2008, Jason Resnick served as an executive for Universal Pictures and Focus Features, most recently as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Worldwide Acquisitions. Some previous acquisitions are Ray, The Motorcycle Diaries and Jet Li's Fearless. Some upcoming acquisitions include Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell and Jackie Chan's latest, The Shinjuku Incident.
For the last three years, Resnick also was in charge of Universal's local language productions in Latin America and Asia. This included two Japanese productions, Dororo and Midnight Eagle, a deal with Hong Kong producer Bill Kong featuring master fight choreographer, Yuen Wo Ping's, directorial debut: True Legend, and Universal's co-production with CJ of Thirst: Korean director Park Chan-wook's new vampire film.
